Document Retrieval Service in Sacramento

When you need a copy of a filed document from the Sacramento County Superior Court — a certified copy of a judgment, a filed complaint, a court order, or any other record on file — someone has to go to the courthouse and get it. That means parking, security, waiting at the records window, and potentially navigating between multiple court locations depending on the case type. For attorneys, paralegals, and litigants who are already stretched thin, it is a trip that eats up half a day.

What Is Document Retrieval?

Sacramento Registered Process Server provides courthouse document retrieval at a flat rate of $75 per trip. We go to the appropriate Sacramento Superior Court location, retrieve the documents you need from the clerk’s office, and deliver them to you. Certified copies, conformed copies, case files, court orders, judgments — whatever is on file with the court and available for public access, we pick it up on your behalf.

All Sacramento Superior Court locations are covered, including the Gordon D. Schaber Courthouse downtown, the Carol Miller Justice Center, and the William R. Ridgeway Family Relations Courthouse. You tell us what you need and we bring it to you.

How It Works

Step 1 — Tell Us What You Need

Submit your retrieval request through our intake form. Provide the case number, the names of the parties, and a description of the specific documents you need — for example, “certified copy of the judgment entered on March 15, 2026” or “conformed copy of the complaint.” If you are not sure of the exact case number, provide as much identifying information as possible and we will locate it.

Step 2 — We Go to the Courthouse

Our runner visits the appropriate Sacramento Superior Court location, requests the documents from the clerk’s office, and obtains the copies you need. If the documents require certification, we request certified copies with the court’s official seal. We handle any copy fees at the time of retrieval.

Step 3 — Documents Delivered to You

Once we have the documents in hand, we deliver them to you — scanned and emailed the same day for immediate access, with physical copies mailed or available for pickup if you need originals. Certified copies are handled with care and delivered intact.

We will let you know the expected fees before proceeding, and we can advance them on your behalf if arranged in advance.
