Who Is Authorized to Accept Service at 2108 N Street, Suite N

When a process server arrives at 2108 N Street, Suite N, Sacramento, CA 95816 to deliver legal documents, they are not looking for a specific named individual — they are looking for an authorized employee of Northwest Registered Agent, Inc. As a California Corporations Code Section 1505 designated commercial registered agent, Northwest filed a certificate with the California Secretary of State identifying authorized individuals at each of its California office locations. Any of those authorized individuals, present during business hours, can accept service on behalf of any entity that has designated Northwest as its California registered agent.

This is operationally different from serving an individual defendant at a home or business address, where you may need to locate a specific person. Northwest’s office model is designed for service of process reception — it is their core function, not an occasional side task. The front desk at Suite N is staffed during business hours specifically to accept legal documents, provide a receipt or acknowledgment, and initiate the scanning and notification workflow that follows acceptance. Northwest’s Corporate Guides® — their US-based, in-house staff — are not outsourced to a call center or a third-party reception service. The people at the N Street office are Northwest employees.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to ask for a specific person when serving Northwest Registered Agent?

No. You do not need to request a specific named officer. Northwest’s Section 1505 Certificate designates authorized individuals for service receipt — any of those individuals present during business hours can accept. Present the documents to the front desk and identify the purpose. Northwest’s staff is trained to accept service and will acknowledge receipt.

What information should I record about the person who accepts service?

Record the full name and title of the individual who accepted the documents. Our process servers ask for this information at the time of delivery and include it in the proof of service. If the accepting employee does not provide a name, note their description and title. The legal standard for service on a registered agent is delivery to an authorized employee — you are not required to confirm the individual’s specific name in the 1505 Certificate.

What if no one is available when I arrive?

Northwest’s 2108 N Street office is staffed during business hours Monday through Friday. If our server arrives and finds the office closed or unstaffed during business hours — an unusual circumstance — we document the attempt, note the date, time, and conditions, and reschedule for the earliest available window. We do not leave documents unattended. For rush deadlines, we notify you immediately if any issue arises.

Does it matter which Northwest employee accepts the documents?

Legally, no — as long as the person is an employee or authorized agent of Northwest Registered Agent at the designated address during business hours. You do not need to serve a specific officer or manager. California law does not require that service on a commercial registered agent be made to a named officer; delivery to any authorized employee at the designated address is valid.
