Which Office Do You Serve?
The answer depends on what the entity’s filing says. When a corporation registers with the California Secretary of State, it designates a specific address for its registered agent. That address is where service must be made.
If the filing lists a Sacramento address for CT Corporation, serve at 555 Capitol Mall, Suite 1150 in Sacramento.
If the filing lists a Glendale or Los Angeles address for CT Corporation, serve at 330 North Brand Boulevard, Suite 700 in Glendale.
If the filing lists an older address (such as 818 West 7th Street in Los Angeles, which was CT Corporation’s previous SOP address), the current Glendale office at 330 North Brand Boulevard has replaced it. CT Corporation moved their Southern California SOP location in 2021.
How to Check
Before serving, always look up the entity on the California Secretary of State’s business search at bizfileonline.sos.ca.gov. The filing will show the current agent for service of process and the designated address. Do not assume — verify the address before dispatching a process server.
Why Sacramento Matters
Many entities — particularly those incorporated in California or with their principal office in Northern California — list CT Corporation’s Sacramento address. As the state capital and a major business hub, Sacramento is a natural choice for corporate filings. This means a significant volume of CT Corporation service of process happens at 555 Capitol Mall.
Wolters Kluwer also designates Sacramento as a key office for its registered agent operations, including legacy Prentice Hall Corporation System entities and NRAI (National Registered Agents) entities that have been consolidated under the CT Corporation brand.
What About Other Cities?
CT Corporation maintains offices across the country, but in California, the two addresses above are the primary service of process locations. If you are serving an entity in the Bay Area, Central Valley, or anywhere in Northern California, the Sacramento office is typically the designated address. For entities based in Southern California, the Glendale office is more common.
