Subject and respondent information is collected as necessary to complete service of process and includes the full legal name, known aliases, last known address, physical description when required for identification, and information related to service attempts and outcomes.
Website information collected automatically when you visit sacrps.com may include your IP address, browser type, pages visited, time on site, referring URLs, and device information.
How We Use Your Information
We use the personal information we collect to perform and document service of process as instructed by our clients, prepare and file Proofs of Service and related legal documents, communicate with clients regarding case status and completions, process payments and maintain billing records, comply with California law and court requirements governing registered process servers, maintain records required by our registration, improve our website and services, and respond to inquiries submitted through our website, phone, or email.
Legal Basis for Processing
Our collection and use of personal information is necessary to perform a contract or fulfill a service request, comply with our legal obligations as a registered process server in California, and pursue our legitimate business interests in operating a professional legal support service.
Disclosure of Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share service-related information including service attempts, outcomes, and Proofs of Service with the client who retained us for that assignment. Proofs of Service and related documents are filed with courts as required by law and are subject to public court records rules. We may share information with trusted third-party vendors who assist us in operating our business, subject to confidentiality obligations. We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, or subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of SAC RPS, our clients, or others.
Data Retention
We retain records of completed service assignments, including Proofs of Service and related documentation, for a minimum of seven years as required by California law. Client contact and billing records are retained consistent with applicable legal and tax requirements. We may retain information longer if required by a pending legal matter.
Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the personal information in our possession. This includes secure storage of case files, restricted access to client records, and secure handling of documents containing sensitive information. No method of data transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
